Baby Dotty Dungarees: Frequently asked questions
What baby sizes do you offer?
Our baby dungarees come in 6–12m, 12–18m and 18–24m. As a guide, 6–12m fits around 77cm, 12–18m around 84cm and 18–24m around 90cm in height. Many styles continue up to 9–10y, so they can stay in their favourites.
Should I size up or down for my baby?
Our clothes are on the bigger side, so if your baby is very little for their age, size down. Adjustable straps and turn-ups give extra room to grow either way.
How do nappy changes work?
Every pair up to 18–24m has a hidden zip between the legs, for the fastest and easiest of nappy changes. No need to take the dungarees off, which is a lifesaver with a wriggly baby.
Are they soft enough for babies?
Yes. Every pair is lined in 100% combed cotton jersey, so only soft cotton touches your baby's skin. The outer fabrics are super soft too, from needlepoint cord to denim and seersucker.
Which fabric should I choose?
Corduroy and chunky cord are cosy for autumn and winter, and cotton rich with a little stretch for crawling. Denim (99.8% cotton, 0.2% elastane) is a durable all-rounder, good for winter or summer. Seersucker is lightweight and breathable for warmer days, between June - August in the UK.
How long will they fit my baby?
Adjustable straps and turn-ups let them grow with your baby, so they last much longer than the size. During the first year of a baby's life they will grow substantially, so its likely a 6-12m pair of dungarees will fit well between 5-14 months, and perhaps beyond! After 12m the dungarees should last an entire year, as the growth of the child slows in pace a little. They're made to be passed down to siblings and friends.
What should my baby wear underneath?
A short- or long-sleeve top or bodysuit works all year. Add tights or leggings in winter for extra warmth. Our organic cotton baby tops (6–24m) are designed to match.
How do I wash baby dungarees?
All Dotty clothes are machine washable up to 30 degrees.
Do they make a good baby gift?

What's your returns policy?
Unworn, unwashed items with tags attached can be returned within 14 days of receipt; after that, returns are refunded as store credit. Exchanges are no problem, just email hello@dottydungarees.com. Return postage is paid by the customer.
