Kitty was lucky enough to be sent a pair of Dotty Dungarees recently and now, if she sees them, I struggle to get her to wear anything else! She’s fascinated with the pockets – I emptied out a pine cone, a feather, a leaf, half a breadstick and a Playmobil fireman before I popped them in the wash the other day – and the fasteners (which she has unfortunately got the hang of). The brainchild of two mamas with adventurous under-fives, Dotty Dungarees are hard-wearing, but soft (I love dungarees on children, but often find the denim a bit stiff and uncomfortable feeling). They are also lined with polka dot cotton jersey in a variety of vibrant shades and can be turned up or down with a button fastening to reveal a splash of colour.
At £39.50 a pair, they’re not cheap, but are durable (have washed brilliantly so far as well) and, because of the adjustable straps and turn-ups, will certainly last your little one for a while. They come in pale blue, soft rose or butcher stripe denim with green, blue, yellow or red lining, plus a matching dotty belt if you want to up the glam factor. Packaging is a cute cotton rucksack which Kitty has also really enjoyed.
