Hello! Happy February!
So twice a year I hot foot it back to my home town of North London (I know it’s technically a rather large city) to attend the UKs biggest children’s wear trade show, it’s a chance to see next seasons collections from existing suppliers and find new and exciting brands that would fit with our ranges.
I actually squeeze in two trade shows (and a look around Liberty for inspiration) and here is a little round up of some of my favourite finds…Some of which might be appearing on Hey Baby shelves very soon.
First up, my absolute favourite collection, it was by Pigeon, we already stock a small range of their rompers, but what they have planned for A/W16 is simply stunning! More importantly what’s available this season….well the sweetest nautical boat print in warm greys, a seahorse print in pale pink, dove grey and yellow, featuring wrap over jackets, leggings, rompers and matching hats. All made from the softest organic cotton and is fair trade certified.
Next up is something completely different, Tobias & the Bear, a unisex brand of predominantly monochrome geometric styles, which ticks ALL my boxes! They are a refreshing modern brand who make everything in the UK, it’s non seasonal, so their leggings, tees and sweatshirts work all year round and are always in season (great if you fall in love with a rend design and need to size up)
Lastly for this round up is Dotty Dungarees, now anyone who knows me well enough, knows I LOVE dungarees, I live in them, my kids live in them, I think they are the most useful item of clothing, however…They are notoriously bad for potty training! All that faffing with buckles! Well Dotty Dungarees address this issue in a genius way, they have a zip, it runs around the crotch area and down the legs, you simply unzip the bottom instead of taking down the top! Great for nappies changes and emergency toilet trips, they can be turned up, let down, are so soft, but hard wearing enough for climbing, running, playing, and I think if you can confidentiality say one item of clothing will last a year then that alone is worth the money!
Hopefully these and many more small brands will be joining us….kept an eye out for more details
