It’s nearly that time again! And no we are not talking about Valentine’s Day, we are talking about the February half term holidays!
To celebrate, we have compiled the best half term activities for your little ones this February. Whether you are looking for a family day trip, good food, or fun events, we’ve pulled together our favourite half term activities.

So here it is, our favourite half term activities for kids in February 2024:
Winchester Cathedral - Craft Workshops and Silent Disco
For all your mini artists and little dancers, Winchester Cathedral has lots of fun half term activities this February as part of their Festival of the Moon programme.
Artist Luke Jerram is coming to Winchester Cathedral this February with his Museum of the Moon artwork. To celebrate, Winchester Cathedral has organised a range of space-inspired family crafts for children including Spacescape pictures, a homemade rocket, and a sweet moon and stars decoration.
Each workshop lasts an hour and your little ones can take home their very own creation. These workshops are chargeable and the Cathedral team recommend you book early to secure your place.
For all you party lovers, Winchester Cathedral has also organised a Silent Disco, especially for families! Dance the evening away with 3 music channels to choose from: Festival Anthems, 90s/00s classics, and Floorfillers. We know which channel we would choose!
Refreshments will be available so you can take some much-needed dance breaks.
Solent Hotel and Spa - Children’s Afternoon Tea
Enjoy a luxurious afternoon at Solent Hotel and Spa in Fareham this half term holiday. Solent Hotel has organised some special half term activities designed especially for kids, and hungry parents!
On Thursday 15th February, enjoy a lovely afternoon tea with your little ones at Solent Hotel. The afternoon also includes some craft workshops to keep your little ones entertained while you enjoy the tranquil surroundings. The afternoon also includes a sweet take-home Valentine’s gift for each of your little ones.
Solent Hotel and Spa - Pizza and Milkshake workshop
Yes, you read that correctly! Solent Hotel and Spa have organised two Pizza and Milkshake workshops for kids this half term, on Sat 10th and 17th February.
Have lots of fun creating your pizza masterpieces! Your little ones will learn how to make pizza, and choose their favourite toppings, before cooking in a pizza oven. If that wasn’t enough, this workshop lets your little ones create their very own milkshakes too.
This workshop seems to only be for children, but we’re pretty confident there will be some leftover pizza and milkshakes for you to enjoy.
Hatton Adventure World - Dick Whittington Panto
If you missed the panto season of Christmas, don't worry, there are more opportunities to take part this February half term. Hatton Adventure World have a whole host of fun half term activities for kids.
Hatton Adventure World in Warwick are putting on a show this half term with their pantomime, Dick Whittington. From Saturday 10th Feb - Monday 26th Feb, join Dick Whittington and friends for a musical extravaganza full of songs, dance, and lots of laughter!
As part of your ticket, you also gain entry to Hatton Adventure World which includes access to the soft play areas, Scales and Tails event, guinea pig care and handling, the farm, falconry display, and a magical family show. This will definitely be a fun family day out this half term!
Doctor Who Futuristic Exhibition - Beaulieu Motor Museum
Calling all sci-fi enthusiasts! The Doctor Who exhibition at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu is running throughout this February half term. Including the iconic Whomobile, sleek and stylish Bessie, and not forgetting the menacing Daleks! The exhibition marks the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who this year.
The National Motor Museum in Beaulieu also has lots of half term activities for children over the February holidays including hands-on experiences and craft workshops.
After enjoying some time spent in Beaulieu, come and visit our little Dotty shop in Lymington! Open every day during the February half term holidays (10th - 18th Feb), our shop is located on Lymington High Street, next to the Cornish Bakery at number 12.
Browse through our selection of dungarees, dresses and shorts for your little ones, and now you can try on a pair of our adult dungarees!
There are lots of great food and coffee shops in Lymington. We would recommend Coffee & Drift, Cornish Bakery, and Mine’s a Pasty for a lovely lunch or well-deserved coffee break.
Science and Industry Museum - Manchester
Play, experiment, and explore this February half term holiday with the Science and Industry Museum’s free itinerary of half term activities for little and big ones!
There are lots of hands-on experiences at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester including pop-up activities throughout the museum, a sensory experience exploring Manchester’s industrial past, and games to show how play helps to create scientific discoveries and innovative ideas.
Make a day of it by adding tickets to their two fun exhibits, Operation Ouch! Food, Poo and You, and Power Up.
Based on the hit BBC TV series, Operation Ouch! Food, Poo and You explores what happens during the digestive system from eating to pooping. Taking children on an immersive adventure through the digestive cycle.
Power Up is a fun gaming experience, which will take you back to the good ol’ days of the Sega Mega Drive! You and your children can have a go playing some classic video games from Sonic the Hedgehog to Street Fighter. This is sure to be a fun day out!
Wizard Walk of York - Yorkshire
This looked too much fun not to include! Having won awards for the Best Tour in 2023 and 2024, and winning 3rd place on TripAdvisors’ Best Family Experience in the World, this walking tour is not to be missed.
Inspired by the magical world of Harry Potter, the Wizard Walk of York takes guests on an enchanting walking tour of York, filled with magical surprise and delight, and lots of laughs especially for younger guests.
This walking tour takes approximately an hour with lots of fun stops along the way. It is recommended for children between the ages of 5yrs and 10yrs, and any big kids with a silly sense of humour!
To fully immerse yourself in the experience, you can also pick up a Wizard Wand Kit to practice your magical skills during or after the walk.
Silent Disco Pyjama Party - Portsmouth
Held at the Groundlings Theatre in Portsmouth on Wed 14th Feb and Fri 16th Feb there will be several Silent Disco Pyjama Parties.
Dress your little ones up in their cosiest pyjamas for a fun-filled day of party games, refreshments, and a silent disco of course! With 3 channels of kids music to choose from including some tunes for adults, this is one of our favourite half term activities for kids.
Plus parents accompanying children can go free, although a headset must be booked if you want to join in the dancing, we know you do!
Each session lasts an hour and a half, and there will be plenty of refreshments available.
Dinosaur Breakout - Drayton Manor
The dinosaurs have escaped at Drayton Manor, and the team of rangers need you and your little ones’ help to find them all this February half term.
As well as locating each dinosaur, there are plenty of rides and attractions to enjoy at Drayton this half term. Experience 50 rides and attractions from the thrilling to the fun, as well as a 15-acre zoo to explore.
For little adventurers, check out Thomas Land for more chilled-out rides, suitable for younger guests. There are also singalong shows for your whole family to enjoy.
With plenty of half term activities for children at Drayton Manor, this is bound to be a fun-filled day for little, and big ones!
Diggerland
Looking for half term activities for kids which involve some hands-on experience with large machines? Well, Diggerland might just be for you!
Re-opening for the February half term, Diggerland has sites in Durham, Devon, Kent, and Yorkshire. At each location, children and adults will have the chance to drive and ride real diggers, dumpers, and other construction machinery! A great day out for all your little builders.
There is lots to do at Diggerland, from rides like Spindizzy, Go Karting, and Dodgems, as well as opportunities to operate diggers and drive JCBs! This is a fun adventure for those who love being in the driving seat.
Before booking, check out the height restrictions for rides to make sure all your little ones are tall enough to have a go.
