In anticipation of our new collaboration with alice + olivia we sat down with Stacey Bendet - founder and creative vision behind the of the iconic brand – to chat all things motherhood and fashion!
You’re celebrating 20 years of alice + olivia - so amazing! What was your inspiration for setting up the business? And has it evolved into what you had imagined?
I first started with pants and now we have a massive ready to wear brand that I could not be prouder! My goal was to creative bold whimsical clothes for every part of a women’s life from what she wears to work, to her best friend’s wedding, and girls’ nights out!
What three words would your daughters use to describe you?
I hope loving, focused, supportive but they would probably say busy! lol
What is the best advice you give your daughters?
In anything and everything you do, focus on working your hardest, giving it your all, you can’t judge yourself by what others think, but you can always feel good about knowing you did your absolute best!
What is your Perfect Mother’s Day?
Yoga, walking around NYC, brunch with the kids and grandparents at the century club….and definitely a massage!
Where do you get your inspiration for your collections?
I think of design as a stream of consciousness process where inspiration can come from everything you see and experience daily…
