I was sent a Red Seersucker Dress by Dotty Dungarees to review, the dungarees arrived in the post in a branded brown paper bag which was very clear to see where it had come from. Inside this bag was the beautiful dress as well as a drawstring bag, again branded. The packaging was quirky, good quality and easy to get into, which is always a plus as when I buy new clothes for my children I can’t wait to see them.
My first impressions of the little red and white striped dress was just how soft it was, from looking at the pictures I didn’t expect it to be so soft, but it was. The dress was age 2-3 and fit my 2.5 year old perfectly and because the straps are adjustable there is plenty of room for growing.
It wasn’t the warmest of days when she wore the dress so I teamed it up with a white polo neck long sleeved top and some white tights and shoes and it looked great, really cute. The dress does come with little red knickers to match (up to size 2-3) so on a warmer day she will be able to wear these with it.
The dress is lined in 100% combined cotton jersey lining and my daughter said it was really comfy. We went to a soft play on the day she wore it and some dresses can hinder her play but this one didn’t due to how soft it was.
There are adjustable straps which were easy to adjust and did not move throughout the day. A slight issue I did have was the strap which had been through the buckle kept coming out from under the top part of the strap (the plain red one kept showing) so I did spend a lot of time tucking it back under as it was annoying my little one.
The dress also comes in yellow and white stripes as well as a blue and white version and I think all of them would look great in the summer. There is also a range of boy’s dungarees as well as other girl’s dungarees and dresses on the website www.dottydungarees.com. It is free delivery on all order which is a bonus when doing online shopping!
Throughout the day we received many compliments on the dress with people saying it was ‘beautiful’ and ‘unusual’.
I will definitely look at buying from this brand; for both my daughter and my son.
